COMIC CREATORS

We learnt about San Diego Comic- Con thanks to Diane, who came from sunny California and is helping us discover plenty of new things about her country and culture.

Comic-Con is an entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego. 
We were amazed to learn about it. Did you know it is the largest convention of its kind in the world? 
There is something for everyone: comic books, science fiction and fantasy film and television, horror, animation, manga, toys, video games, webcomics, collectible card games, fantasy novels...! 
After Dian's presentation the students in the 1st Yer created their own comic stories and presented their ideas to the class. This is part of the result of their work. 

A VISIT TO EVARISTO VALLE MUSEUM

First and second year students at the bilingual program visited the Evaristo Valle Museum in Gijón on 25th of March.

The visit took around two hours; during the first hour a guide explained to us interesting facts about the museum and the artist's life. She spoke in English,  it was very easy to understand her.

The second part of the visit was in the wonderful garden of the museum. It was a gymkhana. We compared how artists express their feelings and ideas in different periods of time. It was great!

During the  gymkhana we got a surprise...Have a look at the pictures to discover it!

Justin visits Elena

Hello I am Justin and I am at Elena´s. Today is 13th April 2015, we toured around El Entrego. First we went to the park, then we went to eat an ice cream and finaly we walked around El Entrego. It was a great day.

Justin comes to Ainhoa's place

Today is 12th of February .
I ´m at the hairdesser's of Ainhoa´s mother.
I´m testing  my fur , I want to dye my fur  blond or red.Ainhoa´s mother is nice because she is  treating me like a king , then I'm walking around La Felguera with Ainhoa´s brother , grandmother  and her mother .
At Ainhoa´s house I´m eating hamburgers , hot dogs and vegetables  too. Then I am watching Monsters S.A with Ainhoa´s family

BE SMART, BE E-SAFE.

This means the end of the project on e-safety which the students in the bilingual program took part in. This short video made by our first year students gives you some advice on social networking. It was meant to be a rendition to the one made by the BBC. I  hope you'll have as much fun watching it as we did shooting it.

A visit to the aquarium

On December 10th our first year students and students from IES Jerónimo González visited the aquarium in Gijón. Here you can see a brief summary of our visit. We had lots of fun!

25th NOVEMBER

Last November, we celebrated the INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ELIMINATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.

Students from different groups took part in some activities related to this meaningful day.

We joined to the ORANGE DAY, a United Nations campaign that invites everyboby to wear orange to take a stand on ending violence against women and girls. Many students gave orange blows to those persons who wanted to take part in this campaign.
